General Cleaning Instructions

Ocura Healthcare Furniture are proud to supply products that are designed to be used in demanding environments and with correct care and attention will give many years of useful life.

The following information is issued as a guide to help you maintain your furniture to high standards of cleanliness and thereby prevent the spread of infection. All surfaces should be diligently cleaned and disinfected regularly and kept dry to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.

All General Surfaces

  • All surfaces should be cleaned using a soft damp cloth and polished completely dry. Do not use abrasive cloth.
  • If disinfection is required, use diluted chlorine products at a strength of 1,000 ppm chlorine and 10,000ppm for blood/blood stained body fluid spillages.
  • Exposure to wet or humid conditions could result in rust marks, paint lifting, discolouration or corrosion. Keep all surfaces dry at all times.
  • Concentrated bleach, synthetic detergents, solvents, wax polishes or aerosol sprays should not be used.

Vinyl Upholstery

  • Our vinyls offer excellent stain resistance and cleanability. All of our ranges have been tested for compatibility with Department of Health recommended cleaning regimes and can be used with all NHS approved cleaning solutions/wipes such as Chlor-Clean, Haz-tab, Actichlor-Plus, Milton, Clinell and Tristel.
