Staff and patients at Bristol Royal Infirmary have welcomed a special delivery after being announced as the winner of a UK-wide prize-draw for Ocura Healthcare Furniture’s new ultra-comfort Colorado recliner chair.
Ocura celebrated the unveiling its new electric recliner earlier this year by launching a competition that attracted hundreds of entries ranging from Inverness to Portsmouth, but it was Jack Nethercott, Housekeeper on A528 ward whose name was picked at random.
Winner! Jack Nethercott, Housekeeper at Bristol Royal Infirmary won Ocura’s new Colorado recliner chair for the hospital.
Jack said: “We’ve bought furniture from Ocura before so we knew it would be a great product. I didn’t expect to win so was very surprised to hear my name had been picked out. We’re just delighted to be able to offer this chair to the patients – comfort is so critical for well-being.”
With a specially designed backrest and wide arms, the Colorado provides optimum comfort for patients who spend long periods of time sitting while receiving treatment such as chemotherapy, dialysis and recovery areas. It is an electrically controlled tilt-in-space recliner which allows users to effortlessly settle into a comfortable position.
The chair, which was manufactured in the colour of Jack’s choice, was delivered and presented to the team at Bristol Royal Infirmary by Ocura’s regional sales manager, Jennie McFarlane.
She said: “It’s fantastic to be able to deliver this new chair to the staff and patients at Bristol today. Our team has put a great deal of thought into its design to ensure it gives patients the right level of support during the extended periods of time they’re using it.”
“We had a really great response to our competition and we’re grateful to everyone who took the time to enter. We’re already planning the next one!”
The Colorado is one of several new patient chairs to be launched by Ocura this year. Others include the stylish Winslow, wooden manually reclining chair, the state-of-the-art Verona treatment chair and our steel framed patient chair, the Arvada with adjustable arm height.
As with all of Ocura’s products, delivery is free to mainland UK.
